5+ years of production DBA experience, including significant AWS experience.
Deep expertise supporting Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Amazon Redshift.
Expert-level SQL skills including execution plan analysis.
Proven ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
Strong root-cause analysis skills under time pressure.
Comfortable working with minimal direction.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to work hybrid (remote & onsite Nashville).
Willingness to support off-hours incidents when required.
Knowledge of CloudFormation and automation
Nice to Have
Experience with CRM/Finance/Accounting systems a plus.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle and concepts such as Agile, SAFE, scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps.
Experience with deployment through CICD
Experience with Liquibase
Knowledge of coding best practices such as CI/CD, Cloud Security, DevOps.
Knowledge of ETL solutions such as Glue & Lambda functions.
Knowledge on dashboards and Dashboard platforms such as AWS QuickSights, Google Looker, Tableau, PowerBI.
Knowledge of big data technologies like Hive and Spark.

Roles & Responsibilities
To oversee day-to-day monitoring, management, and remediation of the team’s various cloud databases on AWS.
The Cloud DBA, Enterprise Systems, will oversee day-to-day monitoring, management, and remediation of the team’s various cloud databases on AWS. In addition to live production databases, this role will also be supporting the development teams with designing schema, access patterns and other areas of database strategy. Primary areas of focus will be performance tuning and monitoring, cost analysis and management, data security and auditing, access administration and backup & recovery.
What else you’ll do:
Monitor performance, and availability of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Redshift databases running on AWS.
Serve as the escalation point for complex database performance, availability, and data integrity issues.
Independently diagnose and resolve ambiguous database issues without predefined runbooks or step-by-step guidance.
Perform deep root-cause analysis across queries, execution plans, storage, compute, and application access patterns.
Build, manage, and monitor AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for migrations.
Proactively tune databases for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Analyze monitoring metrics and logs to detect and resolve issues before SLA impact.
Design and maintain backup, recovery, and environment refresh strategies.
Administer database access controls, auditing, and security controls.
Partner with other teams to support production and performance optimization.
