Data Architect - Data & Performance

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a strong technology and solution delivery role, accountable for the successful design, development, and delivery of Data Engineer solutions on the corporate Data Platform. The duties and responsibilities of this job are to prepare data and make it available in an efficient and optimized format for consumer analytics, BI, or data science applications. It requires to work with current technologies used by IntelDS and in particular Spark, Presto, Hive and RedShift on AWS environment. This includes:

The Data Architect is responsible for 2 main streams:
1. Data & Analytics Industrialization with continuous delivery of business facing applications covering from project management, to functional expertise, technical Architect design, development, testing and UAT.
Main responsibilities for Delivery being:
1.1. Data Architect / Development [95%]:
• Collaborating with functional teams including, but not limited to, requirement reviews to define solutions or alternatives according to the business need and technological capabilities/limitations.
• Influencing technical and business members at different levels of the organization to ensure data models align to strategic objectives, considering current need and future potential (scalability/reusability).
• Promoting “data first” benefits to the organization and usage of Enterprise capabilities to relevant business groups.
• Defining the data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data and master data
• Hands-on on experience in building conceptual, logical & physical dimensional data models. Experience in industry model will be added advantage
• Prepare designs for database systems and recommend improvements for performance.
• Maintain and develop various database scripts and tools to facilitate automation process.
• Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
• Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
• Following all standard System Development Life Cycle processes and producing required documentation.
• Producing guidelines and standards for E2E analytics implementation for both ETL & Reporting usage, manageability and maintainability within the organization.
• Executing analysis, planning, right technology selection, prototyping, designing, developing, deploying, and assisting in end-user training of solutions to the user community for projects, changes and maintenance & evolutions.
• Providing leadership, technical guidance, training and mentoring to others in areas of acquired/assigned expertise, including external consultant partners – knowledge sharing is key to our success.
• Staying abreast of industry standard and cutting-edge technologies through whitepapers, vendor-based collaboration and literature, and technical newsgroups – sharing the research with all members of the local team and extended global community through our internal collaboration tools.

2. User support for the end user community distributed in our 4 main platforms. Central to this role is the provision of technical leadership in resolving Data & Analytics Support issues, and being the Expert Advisor to lead the team in operational efficiency and best practice paradigms.
Main responsibilities for Support being [5%]:
• Post go live support – via ticketing tool - of the full Enterprise B.I. & Analytics platforms’ capabilities – irrespective of technology.
• The first contact point of our end users globally in run mode – optimal communication, resolution and issue closure.
• Operational availability of our evolving technology portfolio, with a deep understanding of the various technical components/features of each technology and proactive trending of weaknesses/’areas to watch’ with proposals to Platform Owner of evolutions required.
• Realizing (& exceeding) our SLAs and Service Delivery KPI targets by defining those KPIs, with daily monitoring and benchmarking on both quantitative and qualitative measures.
• Once identified, contributing to upgrades/evolutions end to end on the portfolio of technologies.
• Creation and Maintenance of the knowledge store of operational issues, trends, activities.
• Applying Problem Management techniques to reduce recurring incidents and requests.

QUALIFICATIONS: - EDUCATION : B.E / B TECH/MASTERS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ELECTRONICS, RELEVANT TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION
Technology Skills and Project Experience:
- 15+ years experience of the full software development lifecycle on BI projects and support experience.
- 10+ years experience on working on data objects pertaining both master and transactional data in Purchasing, Material, Sales Orders and Supply chain in SAP & Oracle ERP is mandatory
- 8+ years in Dimensional Data modelling experience (STAR & Snowflake)
- Expertise in AWS services such as Redshift, Database Migration Service, Glue, S3, and Schema Conversion Tool.
- Any one data modeling tool experience is mandatory (Erwin or any other tool)
- Need to be strong in SQL query writing and procedures
- Experience in following components (or similar):
- BI tools: Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence, PowerBI…
- ETL tools: Informatica PowerCenter, PL/SQL, IICS…
- Data bases: RedShift, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Exasol,…
- Other: object-oriented programming language (python)
- Experience managing servers both Cloud and On-prem (ideally experienced in AWS
