About the Role
The API Manager is responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing APIs and integrations across the enterprise, ensuring secure and scalable data exchange between Salesforce and related business systems.
The role requires strong expertise in API lifecycle management, integration platforms (MuleSoft preferred), Salesforce data architecture, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Define API strategy, standards, governance, and reusable integration patterns.
Manage the full API lifecycle: design, development, versioning, publishing & monitoring.
Architect integrations between Salesforce and external systems (ERP, HRMS, SaaS, custom apps).
Implement integration patterns: real-time, event-driven, batch, streaming, orchestration.
Review designs for alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Oversee developers and integration teams across onshore/offshore models.
Ensure monitoring, logging, analytics, scalability, and performance of APIs.
Troubleshoot complex Salesforce and middleware integration issues.
Enforce API security (OAuth, JWT, mTLS, IP whitelisting) and ensure compliance (GDPR, SOC2).
Manage integration roadmaps, requirements, timelines, and cross-functional alignment.
Required Skills:
5–8+ years in API management, integration architecture, or middleware.
Strong Salesforce integration expertise (REST/SOAP, Apex callouts, External Objects, Platform Events).
Hands-on with API gateways (MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Azure API Mgmt).
Knowledge of sync/async patterns, messaging, ETL/ELT, OAuth/SAML/TLS.
Experience with JSON/XML, Swagger/OpenAPI, RAML.
Familiarity with CI/CD (Git, ADO, Jenkins) and monitoring tools.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Salesforce Integration Architect, Apigee/Kong/Azure API certs, TOGAF (optional).
Qualification: Any Professional degree
