About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
1. Agile Facilitation & Delivery
• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles and Scrum practices.
• Track and communicate team progress using Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts).
• Support the Product Owner in maintaining a well-groomed and prioritized product backlog.
2. Team Coaching & Development
• Coach team members on Agile values, principles, and practices.
• Promote a culture of self-organization, ownership, and accountability.
• Identify training needs and support team development initiatives.
3. Impediment Removal
• Actively identify and remove blockers that hinder team progress.
• Escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
• Shield the team from external interruptions and distractions.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate effective communication between the development team, Product Owner, and stakeholders.
• Ensure transparency of team progress and deliverables.
• Manage expectations and foster trust with stakeholders.
5. Continuous Improvement
• Drive continuous improvement through regular retrospectives and feedback loops.
• Encourage experimentation and innovation within the team.
• Implement process enhancements to improve team efficiency and product quality.
6. Cross-Team Collaboration
• Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Agile teams to manage dependencies.
• Contribute to the organization’s Agile transformation and scaling efforts (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Nexus).
Qualifications
• Education & Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role.
• Experience working in Agile environments with distributed or cross-functional teams.
• Certifications (Preferred)
o Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
o SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or other Agile certifications are a plus.
• Skills & Competencies
o Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
o Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
o Proficiency in Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
