About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Support:
o Act as the primary point of contact for resolving operational tickets related to Proofpoint Email Security.
o Working experience and understanding of the email protocols like SMTP, SPF, DKIM and DMARC
o Provide safe listing and block listing support for domains and email addresses.
o Conduct phishing email analysis and troubleshoot issues concerning non-delivery of emails.
o Creation and modification of Email firewall / spam rules as per service tickets to address specific security requirements.
o Ensure email security gateways are configured and updated with advanced cybersecurity features and rules.
o Working experience with email MTAs, SPAM filters management
o Knowledgeable about the ITIL procedures, Incident and Service request management, SLA hygiene etc.
2. Documentation and Monitoring:
o Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documentation for email security processes.
o Monitor email security alerts and manage responses based on alerts generated by the Proofpoint Email Monitoring system.
3. Design and Configuration:
o Provide design and configuration support for the deployment and transition of the Proofpoint Email Security solution.
4. Vendor Collaboration:
o Collaborate with vendors for the timely resolution of platform-related tickets and enhance overall email security performance.
5. Mitigation Implementation:
o Assist with the implementation of countermeasures and mitigating controls for identified email security issues.
6. Technical Knowledge:
o Utilize knowledge of multi-cluster Proofpoint setups to enhance security strategies and configurations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 3 years focusing on Proofpoint Email Security solutions.
• Strong understanding of email security protocols, including safe listing, block listing, domain on/off boarding, URL/attachment defense and phishing analysis.
• Good experience with email MTAs, SPAM filters, and products similar to Postfix or Sendmail
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to create clear and concise documentation, including SOPs.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
Education Qualificaiton:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. • 6-8 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 3 years focusing on Proofpoint Email Security solutions.
