Field Test Engineer

Responsibilities
• The Consultant Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the strategy and design for the Field-Testing work on Android and iOS Test devices within Arity’s Product Performance group.
• Plan and maintain Test device pool for the field-testing work based on the real time user data.
• Leverage build distribution platforms to get latest versions of the application installed on the test device pool.
• Travel locally on daily basis to test the application installed on all the test devices.
• Capture, Document, and export trip data on a daily basis from all testing devices.
• Hand over the field test artifacts to data analysis team as per the specific format defined.
• Plan testing routes as required by specific use cases.
• Design, develop and maintains scalability, manageability, extensibility, and re-use of the field-testing work.
• Work with team members to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the team.
• Troubleshooting and resolving any degradation of performance, application availability and involvement in Major and Minor releases along with DR (Disaster Recovery) activity.
• Provide proactive solutions to address potential issues related to application.
• Build relationships with members of multiple Engineering, Development, Operations, and Architectural organizations for field testing work intake.
• Perform RCA for any production issues and share it with the stakeholders.
• Analyzes and embraces our technical strategy for continuous delivery.
• Builds new long-term solutions whilst initiating and implementing continuous improvements in test automation activities and related CI/CD responsibility.
• Managing workloads in an Agile development environment
• Supports the strategic technical direction for highly integrated, autonomous test solutions
• Engages appropriate stakeholders in risk identification and mitigation processes.
Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of experience in manual software testing of Mobile Application on both Android and iOS platforms.
• 2+ years of experience with Field testing (Or willing to travel locally on daily basis to test the product)
• Performed installations, troubleshooting, and reporting of product issues at the system level.
• Collected, compiled, and analyzed statistical data from Android and iOS Mobile Devices
• Proficiency in finding, submitting, and tracking production defects to resolution.
• Experience in collaborating with others and delivering innovated solutions.
Desirable Criteria
• Willing to work in flexible timings to extend work time to meet daily deliverables.
• Candidate is comfortable to go out on a field testing daily.
• Experience with common tools such as Artifactory, JIRA, Jenkins is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of security (risks and threats, authentication, authorization, certificates, encryption) is good to have.
