About the Role
Primary Skills:
Technical - ABAP
Expertise with hands on development experience in RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversion, Enhancements and Forms)
Hands-on expertise in below areas of ABAP:
Reports: Classical, Interactive and ALV (preferably ALV using OO Methodology)
Interfaces: BAPI, BDC, Flat file Interfaces (handling files on both Application Server and Presentation Server)
EDI-IDoc
Enhancements: BADI, User Exits and Customer Exits. Knowledge of Enhancement Spots would be added advantage.
Proficiency in areas like Data Dictionary and Performance Tuning.Expertise in OO ABAP.
Knowledge on advanced ABAP areas such as Webdynpro and Workflow would be added advantage.
Development Standards/Development Process.
Soft-skills/Analytical/Leadership skills:
Should have good analytical skills and very strong interpersonal & communication skills. Should be having enthusiasm and energy to drive things in a volatile environment.
Should be able to articulate well through various means such as presentation, meeting, group discussion etc.
Should be a very good listener and a people manager. Should have lead a team in the past.
Should know about various types of projects in SAP: implementation, support and upgrade. Must have worked in all three types of projects.
Should be good at effort estimation by considering complexity of objects. Should be well versed with making right assumptions while estimating the efforts.
Should be having working knowledge in Planning, Scheduling, Execution and Monitoring concepts & tools (such as XL, MPP etc.).
Very good awareness of entire SDLC and processes related to SDLC. Should also be good in visualizing and formulating process flow diagrams.
Should be a proactive driver and ensure that status reports and produced in time and all development work is tracked as per expectations.
Identifying and resolving issues by analyzing programs and determining solutions.
Assisting the team when necessary in the development process. This could be by doing some R&D on technical issues, creating Proof of Concept programs etc.
